Two days and I am beginning to think I switched too soon to the stripers as not a keeper or any shorts on either trip. There is plenty of bait in the water, but the Stripers are not here.
October 10, 2014 STARTING SATURDAY, OCTOBER 11, WE ARE STRIPED BASS FISHING 7 30 AM BACK ABOUT 2 30 PM Last week we spent most of the week at the dock, this week we were out every day except today. This week was a mixed bag every trip, mainly porgies, some nice big fish, trigger fish and of course the heart breaking sea bass we had to throw back, so it is time for a change to STRIPERS.
It was a good trip and they were great guys, but that is what you expect from FD. We will continue to fish for the bottom species, which are fun to catch and good eating, until the striped bass arrive, so come on down and join us on our day's adventure.
Had to check out some of the spots, and started the day off with a lot of nice sea bass, but alas, they all had to be returned as their season is closed. I feel it was not a good season, though we did get the bigger fish, there just were too few, did the 1 2 inch size increase make a difference in the smaller fish, probably.
п"ї SEPTEMBER 24 DUE TO UNFAVORABLE WEATHER CONDITIONS, WE WILL NOT SAIL ON THURSDAY 9 25 CHARTERED ON AM TRIP FRIDAY, 9 26 OPEN BOAT ON 1 30 PM TRIP LAST 1 2 DAY FLUKE TRIPS SATURDAY, 9 27 8 AM AND 1 30 PM BOTTOM FISHING EVERY DAY 7 30 AM 2 30 PM BEGINNING SUNDAY 9 28
